WELLINGTON, Dec 14 NZPA - A family at Hastings in New Zealand were forced to escape their house through a window after two dogs began fighting inside.
Police said both dogs, one a pit-bull, were family pets and began fighting shortly before 7.30pm on Saturday.
Sergeant Eden Sewell said a 20-year-old woman was taken to Hastings Hospital and treated for minor injuries received from the pit-bull during the atack.
Police and animal control were called and secured the pit-bull, while the other dog was destroyed due to the extent of its injuries. The pit-bull is scheduled to be destroyed with the consent of the owner.
