Qld: Man charged with attempted murder

BRISBANE, Dec 15 AAP - A man who allegedly stabbed a woman in the driveway of her Torres Strait home has been charged with attempted murder.
Police said the 24-year-old woman was attacked in her driveway on Badu Island around midnight (AEST) on Saturday.
It's alleged the man cut the woman's arm and face when she was trying to leave her car.
He then allegedly stabbed her in the abdomen.
She is in a stable condition at Thursday Island Hospital.
The man will face Thursday Island Magistrates Court on Monday charged with attempted murder, unlawful wounding and threatening violence.
