NSW: Man dies after truck strikes horse

SYDNEY, Dec 18 AAP - A man has died after his truck collided with a horse in northern NSW.
A B-Double truck was travelling north on the Pacific Highway at Mororo, about four kilometres north of the Iluka turn-off, when it appears to have struck one or more horses, police said in a statement.
The male driver, believed to be from Melbourne, was trapped in the truck for several hours and died at the scene.
The male passenger, who was hitching a ride in the truck, was treated for shock.
Police attended the scene along with hazardous materials (HAZMAT) staff, who cleaned up diesel that spilled from the truck as a result of the collision.
