NSW: Murderer son to be sentenced today

A man who admitted he should have murdered his environmentalist mother 20 years earlier is to be sentenced today.
ADAM PATRICK OWENS pleaded guilty last month to murdering his mother .. DORIS .. in September 2006.
During sentencing submissions in the New South Wales Supreme Court .. OWENS asked the judge to impose a maximum sentence .. saying he knew exactly what he was doing and regretted not doing so 20 years ago.
Justice LUCY MCCALLUM will be hand down a sentence today.
