NSW: Flight instructor Joanne Ethell on board Cessna

Flight instructor JOANNE ETHELL has been named as one of the women on board the Cessna 152 .. which collided with another plane over Sydney's south west yesterday.
Ms ETHELL was on board the aircraft with a female trainee when their plane collided mid-air with a second training flight .. and crashed into the back of a Sydney house about 11.30 yesterday morning (AEDT).
News Limited reports Ms ETHELL was an instructor at The Basair Aviation College.
The second plane .. a single engine Liberty carrying an 89-year-old instructor and his 25-year-old male student .. immediately sent a mayday before flying the 10 kilometres to Bankstown Airport.
News Ltd reports the instructor involved is understood to be former World War II pilot KEN ANDREWS .. while his student was a new recruit .. recently arrived from India .. to undertake the final stages of pilot training at the Bankstown-based Sydney Flight Training Centre.
