Fed: Qld nursing home sanctioned

A Queensland nursing home has been sanctioned for failing to adequately feed and care for residents.
The Mareeba Garden Settlement Hostel will receive no federal government funding for new residents for six months .. with assessors on site daily .. after serious health and safety risks were identified.
Issues of concern include a lack of clinical oversight .. food and systems to identify residents' weight loss.
The hostel's operated by the Uniting Church and has 58 residents.
