NSW: Police warn women after attack

SYDNEY, Dec 19 AAP - An attack on a lone woman motorist in southern NSW has prompted a police warning to female drivers to only get out of their cars at night in well-lit areas.
Police say a 31-year-old woman stopped her car in St Aubyns Rd, Goulburn, just before 11pm (AEDT) on Wednesday to check something on the road.
But after getting out of the vehicle, she was struck on the head and collapsed.
When she came to, a man was trying to take off her clothes.
She fought him off and escaped.
Police obtained a number of items for forensic examination, but the victim was unable to give a description of her attacker, other than it was a man.
Goulburn police warn women travelling alone to stay in their vehicles at night unless they are in well-lit, busy locations.
If they have urgent safety concerns they should report them to police immediately via triple-0, police said.
