NSW: Short message introduced for Triple Zero callers

People who dial Triple Zero will now hear a short recording before being connected to an operator .. to help weed out non-genuine emergency calls.
The Australian Communications and Media Authority says the announcement will give people who've accidentally dialled Triple Zero the chance to hang up .. freeing the service up to receive genuine calls.
ACMA also wants the emergency number to no longer be referred to as Triple-0 .. due to concerns it causes confusion for alphanumeric keypad users who may press the letter O .. rather than zero.
