NSW: Man charged over $6.8 million bank fraud

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged with obtaining money by deception .. following the disappearance of 6.8 million dollars from a Sydney bank.
Police were alerted to the disappearance of the money from a foreign exchange bank in the Sydney CBD earlier this month.
An independent audit revealed the money had been syphoned off through dozens of illegal, internal transactions.
Police arrested a 39-year-old Ryde man in relation to the theft .. charging him with three counts of obtaining money by deception.
He's been granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on January 19.
Investigations are continuing.
