NSW: Armed man tasered in family home

Police have tasered a man who allegedly armed himself with a gun and barricaded himself inside his family's home near Wollongong on the New South Wales south coast.
They were called to the house on Landy Drive at Mt Warrigal around 9 last night (AEDT) after reports the 33-year-old man was allegedly making verbal threats against his family.
Police negotiated with the man .. who was armed with a rifle .. through an open window on the home's front porch.
After a period of negotiation .. a police inspector managed to hit the man on the chest with a taser through the open window.
Police seized a rifle and 40 rounds of ammunition.
He's been charged with a range of offences including using a weapon to avoid apprehension and carrying firearms to injure and will appear at Wollongong Local Court today.
