Fed: Holiday road toll remains at 40

SYDNEY, Dec 29 AAP - The national holiday road toll remains at 40.
The latest report of a fatality has come from Queensland, where a man in his 30s died when his car collided with another vehicle on the Capricorn Highway at Bahaunia Creek, west of Rockhampton in central Queensland.
Police said the accident happened at about 3.45pm (AEST) on Sunday.
The death has taken Queensland's holiday road toll to eight.
Victoria still tops the toll with 11 deaths, Western Australia has nine and NSW eight.
There have been three deaths in the Northern Territory and one in South Australia.
No road fatalities have been recorded in Tasmania or the Australian Capital Territory.
