Qld: Woman critical after boat, dinghy crash

BRISBANE, Jan 1 AAP - A 24-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital after two boats collided near Bribie Island, north of Brisbane.
Police said at around 8.40pm (AEST) on Wednesday a large boat collided with a smaller vessel near the entrance to Pacific Harbour at Pumicestone Passage.
Four people from the smaller boat were thrown into the water. They were hauled aboard the larger vessel.
A 24-year-old woman was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital with head and abdominal injuries and remains in a critical but stable condition.
A 32-year-old woman was treated at Caboolture Hospital for a broken arm and a 25-year-old woman was treated for a rib injury and later released.
Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
