NSW: Highway closed after road rage incident

SYDNEY, Jan 2 AAP - A section of a major highway west of Sydney has been closed in both directions as police search for a man who may be armed following a road rage incident.
Police are appealing for motorists to delay travel on the Great Western Highway near Lithgow due to the police operation.
The roadway was closed in both directions between Barton Avenue and Forest Ridge Drive at Wallerawang, about 12km west of Lithgow, police said.
Officers are searching for a man after a road rage incident at Bathurst earlier on Friday.
"The man's crashed vehicle was found in Forest Ridge Drive at Wallerawang and a search is currently underway for the man, who may be armed and is reportedly shirtless," police said.
"Motorists are advised to be wary if approached by anyone seeking transport in or out of the area."
