Eds: Man killed in crash between truck and train has been included in updated toll figure with police media approval
BRISBANE, Jan 2 AAP - One person was killed when a truck and car collided on the Bruce Highway in central Queensland.
The death takes the Queensland holiday road toll, which ends on Friday, to 13.
The crash between the truck and car near Calen, north of Mackay, killed one person, with no other serious injuries known at this stage.
Police and emergency services responded to the incident after a phone call around 1.30pm (AEST) on Friday.
The Bruce Highway is expected to be closed in both directions for at least five hours, about 5km south of Calen.
The police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Meanwhile, police said the 40-year-old man who died when his garbage truck collided with the Sunlander passenger train on New Year's Day was also being included in the holiday road toll.
The father-of-two died instantly when the truck he was driving collided with the southbound Sunlander train at a level crossing in Innisfail, far north Queensland, at 11.20am (AEST)on Thursday.
