NSW: Two more dead on roads prompts P-plate crackdown
04 Jan 2009 2:32 PM
NSW police are talking about a crackdown on P-platers .. after three serious crashes overnight left two people dead and a third fighting for his life.
Male P-platers were at the wheel on each occasion.
Police traffic commander Chief Superintendent JOHN HARTLEY says young men on P-plates are causing more grief than they should .. and he'll be speaking to the RTA about how to get some commonsense into them.
He's told Macquarie Radio one way might be to confiscate their vehicles for three months for serious speeding and other offences.
