SYDNEY, Jan 5 AAP - A man has been seriously injured and motorists delayed following a car accident on the F3 freeway north of Sydney, the NSW Ambulance Service says.
The 60-year-old was involved in a high-speed single vehicle accident on the F3 approaching Jolls Bridge south-bound at Mooney Mooney about 1pm (AEDT) on Monday.
He was treated at the scene for suspected head and spinal injuries before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital by rescue helicopter, an ambulance spokeswoman said.
The crash initially caused delays for motorists, with all south-bound lanes being closed, but the road has been completely cleared and traffic is flowing well.
