NSW: Total fireban applies

A total fireban is in place for south western New South Wales today .. as firefighters battle a major bushfire in Morton National Park south of Sydney.
The fire has already burnt about 300 hectares of forest .. but isn't threatening property at this stage.
Temperatures soared past 40 degrees in some parts of New South Wales yesterday .. and another hot day is expected for today .. as firefighters face nine bushfires across the state.
Smoke from the Morton National Park bushfire is likely to affect visibility in the Kangaroo Valley and Shoalhaven Heads .. with authorities saying drivers in the area should be careful.
A total fireban applies in the Lower Central West Plains .. Eastern Riverina .. Southern Riverina .. Northern Riverina and South Western region of New South Wales.
