ASIA: Hong Kong shares open up 1.6 per cent

HONG KONG, Jan 7 AFP - Hong Kong share prices opened up 1.6 per cent on Wednesday, tracking overnight gains on Wall Street, dealers said.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index was up 250.02 points to 15,759.53.
