SYDNEY, Jan 10 AAP - A man extradited from Perth over the murder of a Sydney woman more than 10 years ago is to remain in custody until he appears in court next week.
Richard Edward Durrough, 31, was arrested on Wednesday in Perth, where he has been living, and charged with murder.
The unsolved homicide team extradited him to Sydney on Friday and he was taken to Penrith Jail.
Durrough made a brief appearance via video link at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday and was remanded to next appear in Central Local Court on January 15.
Bearded and wearing a blue collared shirt, Durrough showed no emotion during the brief appearance. He did not apply for bail.
The body of 29-year-old Rachael Campbell was found in the grounds of St Josephs Church, Rosebery, on November 7, 1998.
She was last seen by her then boyfriend the previous day.
