SYDNEY, Jan 15 AAP - A 16-year-old boy charged with the stabbing murder of a teenager on a Sydney train just before Christmas will remain behind bars for another four weeks.
Andrew Motuliki, 17, of Marrickville, was stabbed in the chest during a fight between two groups of teenagers on a train at Campsie railway station on December 21.
A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with Motuliki's murder and has already spent Christmas in jail after being refused bail in Parramatta Children's Court on the day after the attack.
He has also been charged with affray and custody of knife in a public place.
In the same court on Thursday, the boy learned he would spend another four weeks behind bars after Magistrate Gary Still adjourned the case until February 12 for mention.
The teenager did not apply for bail, which was formally refused.
Five other teenagers allegedly involved in the fight have also been charged with affray.
One of the boys was granted a 12-month good behaviour bond in Parramatta Children's Court on Wednesday.
The four others have been granted conditional bail.
