Firefighters across New South Wales have begun a busy weekend .. bringing 30 blazes under control and preparing for soaring temperatures next week.
The mercury's expected to climb past 40 degrees Celsius in some parts of the state early in the week.
Fire crews will be concentrating on blazes which are threatening property.
A fire near Londonderry .. west of Sydney .. and another which burnt close to a factory complex at Mount Ku-Ring-gai on Thursday .. were both contained yesterday.
But crews are keeping a close eye on a fire at Evans Head on the NSW north coast .. which is burning on Defence Force land.
