NSW: Cars confiscated, P-plate drivers charged

SYDNEY, Jan 18 AAP - Police have confiscated a car belonging to a P-plate driver spotted racing another car on Parramatta Road, Sydney, at up to 110km/h in a 60km/h zone.
The driver of the second car escaped but the car is being sought by police.
In a separate incident, a Ford V8 was confiscated and its P-plate driver charged after he was spotted doing burnouts at Bossley park, in Sydney's west early on Sunday.
Police said officers on patrol in Parramatta Road had observed two cars reach speeds of 110km/h at Summer Hill, in Sydney's inner west, about 1.15am (AEDT) on Sunday.
One of the vehicles, a yellow Holden Monaro, was stopped and immediately confiscated.
The 31-year-old male driver was charged with street racing and exceeding the speed limit by more than 30km/h.
Police say the man was driving on a suspended P2 licence and is expected appear in Burwood Local Court on February 10.
The second vehicle failed to stop during the police pursuit but officers are continuing their investigation to locate the driver.
In the second incident, which occurred at 12.35 am on Sunday, police charged the 21-year-old male P-plate driver with aggravated burnout, driving a prohibited vehicle and possessing a knife. The Falcon XR8 was confiscated.
He will appear in court at a later date.
