MELBOURNE, Jan 19 AAP - The estranged wife of Bob Jane allegedly waved a knife at the tyre magnate and told him she was going to shoot him during a domestic argument, a court has heard.
Laree Jane, 41, is also alleged to have thrown a remote control at her husband of 18 years, the founder of tyre chain Bob Jane T-Marts.
Laree Jane is facing trial in the Victorian County Court on charges of unlawful imprisonment, assault and threatening to inflict serious injury.
The court heard Mr Jane went to his estranged wife's apartment about six weeks after they had separated to visit his daughter who had undergone an operation.
It is alleged as Mr Jane tried to leave, his wife stopped him from going because she wanted to discuss legal matters.
Crown prosecutor Susan Borg said Laree Jane chained the door and blocked her husband from leaving the apartment.
At one point, she allegedly said: "I am going to f***** shoot you, I have a loaded gun."
Later, Laree Jane made stabbing motions with a knife while Mr Jane was on the phone to a triple-0 operator, Ms Borg said.
Jane's lawyer Philip Dunn, QC, said his client did not dispute that there was an argument, but did dispute that anything criminal occurred.
He said the remote control flew out of Jane's hand.
The trial before Judge Lisa Hannan continues.
