Qld: Man charged over death of woman found on houseboat

BRISBANE, Jan 20 AAP - A 48-year-old man has been charged over the death of a woman found on a Gold Coast houseboat last Saturday.
The 51-year-old woman, who sustained head injuries, was initially reported as a missing person on the Gold Coast on January 16.
Police charged Gold Coast man Milton Lloyd Taylor on Monday night with grievous bodily harm.
Taylor faced Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody to appear again on January 22.
Taylor's arrest followed a joint police investigation codenamed Hotel Acrid. It involved detectives from the Gold Coast and the state homicide investigation unit.
Forensic police and dive squad officers also conducted investigations at the scene, in the Southport broadwater.
A post mortem examination of the woman's body continues.
