NSW: Taxi speeds off leaving woman with serious head injuries

SYDNEY, Jan 21 AAP - A woman has been left with serious head injuries after a taxi sped off as she tried to get out of it in Sydney's eastern suburbs, police say.
The 28-year-old woman was seen getting out of a taxi in Milford Street, Randwick, at about 10pm (AEDT) on Tuesday when the driver accelerated, knocking her to the ground.
She sustained serious head injuries and was taken to the nearby Prince of Wales Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the taxi fled the scene.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
