NSW: No closure for family of murdered pregnant woman

The family of a pregnant New South Wales woman shot dead by her husband says they still have no closure without knowing why he did it .. after parole was granted eight years before his maximum jail term expired.

BRIAN CORRIGAN was sentenced to 22 years in prison after shooting his wife KIM twice in the head at their Kiama home in 1992 .. killing her and their unborn baby girl.

Aged 34 at the time .. he initially claimed an intruder murdered his 27-year-old wife but later blamed voices in his head .. a claim the trial judge rejected.

CORRIGAN's been granted conditional parole today and will be released by February 5.

Speaking outside the hearing at Parramatta .. Ms CORRIGAN's father JIM TABER's told Macquarie Radio they don't have closure because he showed no remorse throughout the court hearing .. and they don't know why he did it.

As well as standard parole conditions .. the court's ordered CORRIGAN must not visit his former wife's family or neighbourhood.
