Tas: Two youths missing after escape from van

HOBART, Jan 23 AAP - Two youths have escaped while being transported to a Tasmanian detention centre.
The 17-year-olds escaped while being taken to the Ashley Youth Detention Centre and were last seen on the Midlands Highway near Spring Hill.
Both boys have short brown hair, were wearing blue polar fleece jumpers and pants and were handcuffed at the front of their bodies.
One was wearing a black beanie and the other a blue cap.
The public should not approach the pair and are asked to contact police immediately if they sight the boys or have any information on their whereabouts.
