Vic: Motorist charged after police seize drugs, weapons

MELBOURNE, Jan 23 AAP - A Victorian man will appear in court next week after police stopped his car and allegedly found drugs and weapons inside.
Officers pulled over 35-year-old driver Tasman Marell on Geelong's Eastern Beach Road on Friday morning.
Inside the car, the officers allegedly found drugs, a knuckleduster and slingshot and a further search of his Hamlyn Heights home allegedly turned up other drugs, including suspected ecstasy tablets, a shotgun and ammunition, an extendable baton and stolen number plates.
Marell was charged with trafficking and possessing a drug of dependence, possessing prohibited weapons, firearm offences and theft and remanded in custody to appear before Geelong Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
