NSW: Man found dead in street was stabbed: police

SYDNEY, Jan 24 AAP - Police believe a man who was found dead in the middle of a street in Sydney's west was fatally stabbed.
The body of the man was discovered at about 2.45am (AEDT) on Saturday lying in the middle of Cardigan Street in Auburn.
Police do not yet know the circumstance surrounding his death, but several people are assisting them with their inquiries.
"Early indications are that it appears that he's been stabbed," a police spokesman told AAP.
Local diversions are in place while Cardigan Street remains closed.
