SYDNEY, Jan 29 AAP - An automatic teller machine in the NSW Hunter region has been blown up, but police say it's not clear if the thieves got away with any cash.
Officers were called to Dora Street at Morisset about 3.15am (AEDT) on Thursday following reports of an explosion.
"Both the single ATM and the vacant shop it is housed within, were seriously damaged," police said in a statement.
"No one was injured and it is not yet known whether cash was taken."
A police strike force investigating a string of attacks on ATMs across NSW is looking into the latest incident.
A dark-coloured sedan was seen fleeing the scene of Thursday's explosion.
There are rewards totalling $150,000 for information leading to the conviction of people responsible for the hits on ATMs.
Detectives are hoping members of the public will come forward with more details about the latest incident.
