Vic: Houses destroyed, records broken in heatwave

Homes have been destroyed by a bushfire in Victoria amid a heatwave that continues to take its toll on southeastern Australia.
Up to five homes have been destroyed by bushfires at Boolarra North .. in the Latrobe Valley .. in the state's third day of extreme temperatures.
It's the first time since records began in 1855 that Melbourne has had three consecutive days above 43 degrees .. with the mercury reaching 45.1 degrees at 4.27 (AEDT) this afternoon.
Tasmania's also recorded its hottest-ever temperature .. 42.2 degrees .. while Adelaide reached 43.1.
