Aust house price index fell 0.8 pct in Dec quarter

SYDNEY, Feb 2 AAP - The Australian house price index fell 0.8 per cent in the December quarter, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Monday.
This compares with a downwardly revised 2.4 per cent fall in the September quarter.
In the year to December, the house price index decreased 3.3 per cent.
Economists had expected a fall of 1.0 per cent for the December quarter.
