Vic: Volunteer firefighter in court for starting fires

A magistrate has refused bail for a volunteer firefighter .. accused of starting several fires .. saying he's too great a risk to be released on bail.
As Victoria braces for one of its worst fire danger days in history .. Magistrate TOM HASSARD said the lighting of fires is a great community concern.
He refused bail for JARRED BREWER .. an active member of the Darraweit Guim Fire Brigade.
BREWER is charged with lighting five fires north of Melbourne .. after appearing yesterday in Broadmeadows Magistrates Court.
