A man shot in broad daylight at a popular motor cycle event in Sydney's west is believed to have been involved in an altercation with a motorcycle gang.
Police have been told five men wearing outlaw motorcycle gang colours approached the 33-year-old man at Silverwater this afternoon.
He was shot in the leg before the men fled the scene on foot across a park towards Silverwater Bridge.
The incident occurred as hundreds of people gathered at an event nearby run by a Christian motor cycle club.
The shooting follows an explosion outside the Hells Angels clubhouse in the inner west suburb of Petersham early on Wednesday morning.
