Qld: Priest defiant of sacking move

A Brisbane Catholic priest is poised to be sacked today after refusing to resign over unorthodox practices.
Father PETER KENNEDY .. the priest in charge of St Mary's South Brisbane parish .. says he's received a letter giving him until noon (AEST) today to resign or be removed from the parish.
He's already been asked by Archbishop of Brisbane JOHN BATHERSBY to leave the parish by this Saturday .. after complaints his parish is no longer in communion with the Roman Catholic Church.
But Father KENNEDY says he won't resign.
The 71-year-old priest has come under fire for allowing women to preach and blessing homosexual couples.
