NSW: Two people busted with testosterone, customs says

SYDNEY, Feb 19 AAP - A man and a woman have been arrested attempting to smuggle steroids into Sydney on separate flights from Lebanon, Australian Customs and Border Protection says.
A 33-year-old Australian woman arrived at Sydney airport on Wednesday, and a search of her luggage allegedly revealed 2,205 vials of testosterone and 4,800 tablets.
"These items are considered to be performance and image enhancing drugs and cannot be imported into Australia without a permit from the Therapeutic Goods Administration," customs said in a statement.
She has been charged with importing prohibited items and was granted conditional bail to appear in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on March 10.
Her arrest followed that of a 32-year-old Lebanese man who arrived at Sydney airport from Lebanon on Tuesday.
Customs alleged 497 vials of testosterone were detected in his luggage after he arrived on a flight from Lebanon.
He has faced Downing Centre Local Court on charges of importing prohibited items and the matter was adjourned until April 15.
The two cases are unrelated, a customs spokeswoman said.
The maximum penalty for importing steroids is five years jail and or a fine of $110,000.
