NSW: Teenager charged over death at Maitland show

SYDNEY, Feb 22 AAP - A teenager has been charged with manslaughter over the death of Jamie Purdon after an alleged fight at Maitland Showground in the NSW Hunter region.
Police said Mr Purdon, 21, from Raymond Terrace, died in Maitland Hospital on Friday night after the altercation at the Maitland Show.
The 17-year-old Pokolbin man turned himself in at Maitland police station on Sunday morning, where he was interviewed and charged with manslaughter.
He has been given strict conditional bail to appear in Maitland Childrens Court on Tuesday, March 24.
