Aust stocks close lower, pulled back by miners

A late recovery failed to stop the Australian share market from closing in the red following weakness among the big miners.
At the 4.15 pm (AEDT) close .. the ASX200 index was 51.2 points .. or 1.5 per cent .. lower at 3,351.2 .. while the broader All Ordinaries index fell 48.9 points .. or 1.46 per cent .. to 3,304.1.
