US stocks open higher on easing nationalisation fears

US stocks opened higher on Monday .. on easing concerns of nationalisation after the government said it would strive to keep banks in private hands.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 64.12 points .. or 0.87 per cent .. to 7,429.79 .. at the opening bell after a sharp sell-off last week on concerns leading banks will be nationalised.
The tech-dominated Nasdaq rose 5.93 points .. or 0.41 per cent .. to 1,447.11 .. and the broad-market Standard and Poor's 500 index climbed 6.57 points .. or 0.85 per cent .. to 776.62.
