SYDNEY, Feb 24 AAP - Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Labor continue to dominate Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull and the coalition, the latest Newspoll reveals.
The poll in Tuesday's The Australian newspaper shows the prime minister's personal approval ratings have returned to the levels of support he had before Christmas, while support for Mr Turnbull remains low.
On a two-party preferred vote Labor leads the coalition 58 to 42 per cent.
This compares to early December 2008, when Labor led the coalition 59 to 51 per cent.
The poll, taken on February 20-22, found 66 per cent of voters said they were satisfied with Mr Rudd's performance while 43 per cent were satisfied with Mr Turnbull's performance.
Both Mr Rudd and Mr Turnbull had suffered four percentage point drops in voter satisfaction with their performances since early December.
