PERTH, Feb 24 AAP - West Australian police have charged a second man with animal cruelty after a kangaroo was beheaded and disembowelled.
The 20-year-old is alleged to have helped kill the roo on Estuary Road at Dawesville, south of Perth, on February 16.
Police said they were called to investigate reports a group of males had caught a kangaroo and were abusing it.
When officers arrived, they found the remains of a kangaroo that had been decapitated.
Police later searched a house and seized items allegedly related to the killing.
The first man charged pleaded guilty to animal cruelty in Mandurah Magistrates Court last week. The 18-year-old was remanded on bail to reappear on March 6.
