NSW: Man on firearms charges afetr raid allegedly nets guns

SYDNEY, Feb 27 AAP - Handguns, drugs and cash have been seized in a raid on a home in south-west Sydney, police say.
Police raided the house in Lilac St at Punchbowl just before midnight on Thursday, allegedly seizing ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of $35,000, two pistols and ammunition, fireworks and a "substantial" amount of cash.
A 30-year-old man was arrested at the house and taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was later charged with possessing a prohibited pistol, possessing an unauthorised pistol, two counts of not keeping a firearm safely and two counts of possessing ammunition.
He was also charged with proceeds of a crime offence and possessing a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and is expected to appear at Bankstown Local Court later on Friday.
