Vic: Woman dies in unit fire

MELBOURNE, March 5 AAP - An elderly woman died when her unit was engulfed by fire late on Tuesday.
Fire crews were called to a two-storey block of units in Bruce Street, Toorak, about 11pm (AEDT) after a man in a second-floor flat noticed smoke billowing from below, police said.
Metropolitan Fire Brigade crews contained the fire and then found the body of the 70-year-old occupant.
Arson squad detectives and forensic specialists are at the scene but the blaze, which appeared to have started in the bedroom, is not regarded as suspicious.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
