NSW: Three accidents kill four in NSW

SYDNEY, March 8 AAP - A woman was killed when her four-wheel drive plunged off a railway bridge and into a canal in Sydney's inner south, in one of three fatal accidents in NSW on Sunday.
Emergency services called to the scene found the woman's body in her vehicle at the railway bridge at Richardsons Crescent in Tempe.
The vehicle crashed into a canal running alongside the rail corridor at about 7.45pm (AEDT), but services on the Illawarra line were not affected, a CityRail spokesman said.
"The car has ended up inside a canal which runs alongside the rail corridor, but not inside the rail corridor itself," he said.
Authorities were trying to recover the woman's body and inquiries were underway into the cause of the crash, police said.
The woman's death came just hours after two people were killed and three others had to be rescued from a car teetering on a cliff after a collision in the NSW southern tablelands at 11.30am (AEDT).
The collision between two cars happened on a cliff edge beside the Kings Highway at Braidwood, an ambulance spokeswoman said.
One car had to be stabilised before the occupants could be freed.
"One car was teetering off the edge and had to be stabilised," the spokeswoman told AAP.
"Both of the cars were very, very close to the edge."
Two people in one car were killed in the collision, while three in the other car were taken to Braidwood Hospital with minor injuries.
The third fatal accident occurred near Cessnock in the NSW Hunter Valley where a 48-year-old man died when his car hit a power pole at about 3am (AEDT) on Sunday.
Police called to Leggetts Drive at Mulbring found the man's body thrown from the vehicle, and lying about 10 metres from his car.
He has yet to be formally identified but is believed to be from Acacia Gardens, in Sydney's northwest.
