WA: Police fire shots at car after police car rammed

Police have fired shots during an incident in which a man .. wanted for a string of burglaries and a hit and run .. rammed a police car and injured an officer.
West Australian police were called to the Nollamara shopping centre about 10.40 this morning (WDT) .. where staff at the local supermarket held a 26-year-old woman who assaulted them after being caught shoplifting.
Police took the woman into custody and were en route to the Mirrabooka police station when they were rammed by a man wanted in relation to a string of crimes earlier in the day.
The man then allegedly rammed the police car again .. and police then fired at the vehicle.
The 29-year-old driver tried to get away from police but was found nearby soon after.
Both people are being questioned by police about the ramming and the shopping centre assault .. an aggravated burglary in Tuart Hill .. the theft of a moped in Trigg and a hit and run in Wanneroo earlier today.
