US stocks skyrocket on Citigroup outlook

US stocks have leapt at the market open today after troubled banking giant Citigroup offered an upbeat profit outlook .. raising investor confidence.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average shot up 121.15 points (1.85 per cent) to 6,668.20 in opening trade.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite climbed 25.91 points (2.04 per cent) to 1,294.55 and the broad-market Standard & Poor's 500 points advanced 15.14 (2.24 per cent) to 691.67.
