CANBERRA, March 11 AAP - Two separate Senate committees will hold investigations into emissions trading.
The Senate on Wednesday voted to set up a select inquiry into climate change and emissions trading. This was the brainchild of the opposition and the Greens.
Five minutes earlier the Senate voted to have the economic committee look into the government's draft laws for emissions trading. This was the government's idea.
A third committee, the committee on fuel and energy, is already looking into the impact of emissions trading on prices, jobs and supply in the energy sector.
