Police say several shots were fired after an argument broke out between two men at Bass Hill at about 3.30pm (AEDT).
The 37-year-old victim managed to drive away from the station after the shooting but crashed into a tree on the opposite side of the road.
Police say paramedics found him slumped dead over the wheel.
