NSW: Nine teachers dismissed for sexual assault

SYDNEY, March 20 AAP - Every three weeks on average in NSW, a teacher is sacked for sexually assaulting children or committing other sex crimes against students, government figures show.
Nine teachers were dismissed for sexual assault, eight were dumped for entering into an improper relationship with a student and seven were found with child pornography, News Limited reports.
A further nine teachers were booted out of school for a range of sex offences against children over a 24-month period.
The data obtained under freedom of information shows 71 teachers were dismissed between August, 2006 and the end of last year because they committed a crime, engaged in serious misconduct or were incompetent.
The figures also revealed that 25 teachers were sacked for gross inefficiency.
