Qld: Police officer stood down after further charges

BRISBANE, March 20 AAP - A north Queensland police officer has been charged with two additional offences and stood down after allegedly failing a random breath test on Tuesday night.
The 44-year-old senior constable was intercepted at a breath testing site in Cairns around 10.30pm (AEST) on Tuesday.
He was charged with driving with a blood alcohol concentration over the prescribed limit.
On Friday, after further investigation into his activities that night, he was charged with an added drink driving offence and driving while suspended.
He is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on April 20.
The officer has been stood down from duty pending the outcome of an Ethical Standards Command investigation.
